30 Posts In 30 Days – Day 27: Habits

This is Day 27 of the 30 Posts In 30 Days Challenge I set for myself to start writing online. This post was originally published on X.

Most of my everyday actions come from the many habits I’ve adopted over the years.

One way or another, they’re all contributing to the vision I have for my life, bringing me closer to it one day at a time.

Writing for myself

In the past 6 years I’ve been writing down my thoughts, first thing in the morning, for about 30 minutes.

It helps me set the tone for the day and goes along nicely with a cup of black coffee.

Going for walks

30 minutes. Every day. Right after lunch.

I love being in nature and that’s where I get my best ideas.

(Besides sitting on the throne of course.)

Exercising regularly

I go to the climbing gym 2-3 times a week with some of my best friends.

It helps me take a break from work and stuff.

Keeping a budget

I can’t stress enough how important it is for me to know my numbers.

Money can be a very stressful and emotional topic.

I don’t want to make financial decisions based on how I feel.

Which is why I’m keeping a budget for both my business and personal life.

Time management

I’ve kept track of my weekly and daily tasks for years.

I’m currently in the process of introducing a quarterly plan and a 5-10 year plan as well.

Experimenting with new routines

I love trying out new things every now and then.

I’m in the middle of a writing experiment, posting a long-form post on X every day for 30 days.

This is day 26.

I know that’s a lot but it works for me.

I’m a bit of a control freak and I need a lot of structure.

I can’t just “wing it” or I’ll start to feel overwhelmed and distracted.

That being said, every now and then I try to break out of my routine and “let go” of everything.

Mostly on weekends or planned periods of time, throughout the year.
