30 Posts In 30 Days – Day 26: Limiting Beliefs

This is Day 26 of the 30 Posts In 30 Days Challenge I set for myself to start writing online. This post was originally published on X.

Is it too late to start working for yourself in 2023?

The short answer is obviously: No, it isn’t too late.

But I get it, it feels hard to keep up with everything happening so fast in our world today.

I’ve been doing this for years and I still have a lot of limiting beliefs myself.

1. I’m too old

You may be too old or too late for a lot of things:

  • Retiring at 30
  • Becoming a pro athlete
  • Making a million by the end of 2023

But you’re never too old to take matters into your own hands.

If working for yourself is the change you’re looking for, you should take action. Today.

2. I don’t know where to start

Which is another way for saying “I’m too afraid to do something”.

Believe me when I say that I feel the same way all too often.

But I always end up with the same conclusion: Taking action is the only way to start.

3. I don’t have the time

Yes, you do.

Maybe you’re not in your twenties anymore, living at your parent’s place.

Maybe you’re a parent of 3, working 10 hours for 5 days a week.

Whatever your situation, make it a priority and use the time you have.

Even if it’s just 30 minutes a day.

Learn to do things at YOUR own pace.

4. There’s too much competition

There might be and that’s a good sign.

It means there’s money in what you’re trying to do, which is a great indicator of value.

Think about what value YOU have to offer.

5. AI will take my job

Maybe it will eventually.

But if you work for yourself you’ll have much more control over that.

Like it or not, AI is here to stay.

I try to look at it as another tool to add to my toolbox.

Learn how to use it and not the other way around.
